Before contacting the WiSo-KLIPS-Support, please take a look at the information provided below or on the  homepage of the central KLIPS-Support.

Hint for students who have enrolled at the university after the 2nd enrollment period has ended (september, 26 2016) or who have missed the deadline of the 2nd enrollment period: Please use the period of allocation of the remaining places starting on october, 18 2016. Please consider the information below (heading "General allocation of the remaining places").

Please note that the general allocation of the remaining places can only be used for selected courses which the respective chair has chosen to take part in this allocation period. If a course cannot be registered for during the general allocation of the remaining places it is in general not a mistake and hence cannot be registered for anymore. See also below for further information, in particular you can find an exhaustive list of the current course offer and the corresponding allocation possibilities.

Before registering for courses or exams

Before you can make full use of KLIPS 2.0, you will have to request admission to the examination procedure at the WiSo examination office. Further information you can find  here.

Please note that the course enrollment in KLIPS 2.0 does not represent an exam registration. You will have to register separately for the exams in KLIPS 2.0.

If you do not yet have the admission to the examination procedure at the time of the enrollment period, you can still register for courses in KLIPS 2.0. An enrollment to exams is, however, only possible once you have successfully requested the admission to the examination procedure at the WiSo examination office.

Information on Course Registration in KLIPS 2.0

If you are currently in your first semester at the WiSo-Faculty, you will have to request admission to the examination procedure at the WiSo examination office in order to register for exams. This is something very essential which you should do as soon as possible. More detailed information you can find  here.

You will know that you have been admitted to the examination procedure if you can see the structure of your studies after selecting “Registration Status” and then your respective study path. An exhaustive manual regarding course registration you can find  here

If you are not yet admitted to the examination procedure at the time of your course registration, it is still possible to register for courses in KLIPS 2.0. An enrollment to exams is, however, only possible once you have successfully requested the admission to the examination procedure at the WiSo examination office.

The courses of the WiSo-Faculty are mainly enrolled during the so-called registration periods. An overview indicating which courses you can register for in which period you can find here.

HINT: This list has to be seen as additional information for students and does not contain any binding information. It can be updated as the semester proceeds.

In the following you can find exhaustive descriptions regarding the particular enrollment periods. Each enrollment period starts at 00.01 in the morning and ends at 23.59 in the evening of the respective dates.

Please note: The main enrollment periods within the WiSo-Faculty are the 1st and in particular the 2nd period. The period for allocating the remaining places is only a period for students who have not been admitted to courses in the prior enrollment periods to register for courses which still have free places (e.g. due to students opting out of a course).

Prioritizing of Course Selections

After having registered for courses it is possible to prioritize them in order to increase the possibility of admission to, in your opinion, particularly relevant or interesting courses. This issue only concerns course which are allocated according to the WiSo-Allocation-Procedure (“WiSo-Reihungsverfahren”) which are in general all courses with limited number of students being able to attend the respective course. A helpful manual for this you can find here.

1st enrollment period

The 1st enrollment period takes place from 20th July to 1st August 2016. The publication of the allocation results occurs on 18th August 2016. In the 1st enrollment period you can register for advanced graduate seminars (Hauptseminare) as well as Bachelor seminars in the field of business administration. The field seminars in economics can be enrolled as well.

Additionally, you can register for some specific courses (e.g. several business projects) in business administration. For detailed information please take a look in the above mentioned list regarding the allocable WiSo-courses.

2nd enrollment period

The 2nd enrollment period takes place from 9th to 26th September 2016. During 27th September to 5th October 2016 the technical allocation will be realized. Please note that in the latter period no registration is possible. The publication of the allocation results occurs on 13th October 2016. In order to see your results please log in to your personal KLIPS account using your S-Mail-Account. There you will find the allocation results under “Studies” – “Course Registration”.

General allocation of the remaining places

Please do not use this period as your main enrollment period. Please use instead the 2nd enrollment period for your course registration!

Courses without any limitation of number of students being able to attend the course and courses with remaining places can usually be enrolled during this period after the first day of classes.

The allocation period of the remaining places in KLIPS 2.0 starts exclusively for the WiSo-Faculty on 18th October 2016 and ends on 10th November 2016.

Please note:

  • The allocation period of the remaining places at other faculties starts at different dates.
  • During the allocation period of the remaining places only REMAINING places of the selected courses will be allocated. If there are still free capacities in some courses, these courses will be activated for this allocation period in KLIPS 2.0.

During the allocation period of the remaining places you will be immediately admitted to the respective course (principle of “First-Come-First-Serve”). Your admission will be published in your KLIPS account (“Studies” – “Course Registration”). Having been admitted to a given course will lead to an admission to the respective ILIAS course within two business days.

Exam Registration in KLIPS 2.0

Students studying under the (new) examination regulation 2015 will also use KLIPS 2.0 for their exam management. A manual showing an exemplary exam registration can be found here.

Please note that the course enrollment in KLIPS 2.0 does not represent a registration for the exam! The latter has to be done separately in the respective time limits in KLIPS 2.0. An enrollment to exams is only possible once you have successfully requested the admission to the examination procedure at the WiSo examination office.

Important Hint

Please note that an exam registration leads to a definitive and irreversible choice of a module or subarea of your study program. Even if you deregister an exam, this definitive choice remains. Exclusively the WiSo examination office may allow you to undo this choice. Information on this topic can be found on this website
